We, the Wolfsgruber family, would like to welcome you warmly to Hotel Gasthof Huber. Our long-established hotel is located in the small South Tyrolean mountain village of Mühlbach above Gais, at an altitude of 1500m above sea level.
Our long-established hotel is far removed from the hustle bustle of everyday life, nestling on a picturesque and sunny south-facing slope in the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park in South Tyrol. As you relax on our sun deck, you can gaze into the distance and enjoy breath-taking panorama views over the summits of the East Dolomite mountains, the Kronplatz and the Peitlerkofel.

Annelies, the “fairy godmother” landlady of the hotel, awaits you at the reception desk. She’s passionate about ensuring guests feel good and enjoy their stay. Annelies will be delighted to show you our lovingly furnished rustic-style rooms with lots of natural timber in true South Tyrolean style. Landlord Karl can tell you exciting stories from the past, and explain the traditions and customs in the mountain village of Mühlbach above Gais.
Hannes, the son of your host family, will pamper you with delicious dishes from grandmother’s recipe books. Using fresh ingredients – some sourced from our own mountain farm and the hotel’s kitchen garden – Hannes conjures up his tasty South Tyrolean specialities.
Enjoy the special atmosphere in our centuries-old farmhouse parlours. Katrin, Hannes’ partner, will be happy to recommend finest South Tyrolean wines to accompany your delectable South Tyrolean dishes.
Attached to Hotel Gasthof Huber, there is also a traditional mountain farm with livestock and alpine farming. Here you’re most welcome to watch young farmer Stephan at work as he cares for the animals on his parent’s farm!
Our Hotel Gasthof Huber is situated in the middle of nature, making it the ideal destination for sports-loving holidaymakers as well as for those simply seeking peace and quiet. Here you’ll find tranquillity and relaxation, allowing you to recover from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and recharge your batteries. The most beautiful walks down into Mühlbach Valley begin right on our doorstep. Katrin, the daughter of your host family, knows all the nicest spots in Mühlbach and will be happy to give you tips for your next walk.
In winter, active holidaymakers can look forward to skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing and winter hikes on the Kronplatz, South Tyrol’s number one ski region, or in the surrounding ski resorts such as Speikboden and Klausberg in Tauferer Ahrntal, Helm ski resort in Upper Puster Valley or the Alta Badia skiing region. Nor should you miss the legendary Sellaronda ski circuit, one of the best known ski circuits in South Tyrol, which takes you all around the Sella mountains on skis and chair lifts.
