The “Mühlbacher Talile”

Word has gotten around that Hotel Gasthof Huber in Mühlbach in the municipality of Gais is the perfect base for hikers and mountain bikers holidaying in the region: easy family walks and challenging mountain tours begin right outside our front door! Cyclists and mountain bike enthusiasts will find direct links to the Tauferer Ahrntal cycle path network, bike trails in upper Puster Valley over to Lienz, or in Eisack Valley in the direction of Brixen.

An educational trail, “Following the Traces of Days Gone By”, leads along the side of the Mühlbacher Talile. Beautiful wooden sculptures and interesting information boards bring ancient customs and crafts to life.

Starting from the mountain village of Mühlbach, the trail leads over to the reservoir, where there is ample parking. Next to the reservoir is a pub with outdoor sitting area where you can rest and take refreshment.
This is also the starting point for the alpine trail to the “Mühlbacher Talile”. After walking for about fifteen minutes, you will reach the “Mühlbacher Badl”, a spa located 1650m above sea level. Thanks to its fresh spring water, the spa gained popularity even in the last century.
From here, you can continue your walk past alpine lodges offering refreshments, meadows and mountain pastures to the head of the valley, surrounded by the mountain summits.
Due to the diversity of its vegetation, the Mühlbacher Talile is a unique destination for nature lovers and walkers.
