Winter in the mountain village of Mühlbach above Gais
Explore the “Mühlbacher Talile” on foot, snow shoes or cross-country skis. Enjoy the special peace and quiet of the snow-covered valley, and soak up the sun’s rays.
Families will enjoy the “Mühlbacher Talile” toboggan run. Speed away on a sledge from Huber Alm at the end of the valley down to car park at the end of the valley.
Other fun toboggan runs can be found in Oberwielenbach, Uttenheim (illuminated toboggan run) and Weissenbach (illuminated toboggan run).
Ski tours, ice-skating, ice-climbing and long, unforgettable hikes through the snow offer enjoyable alternatives to skiing.
Naturally, winter is also all about having fun on the ski slopes.
In the Kronplatz ski resort, the no. 1 ski region in South Tyrol, you can enjoy more than 30 lifts and 100km of excellently serviced slopes. Thanks to the new lift in Percha, which is linked to the South Tyrolean rail network, you can access the Kronplatz ski region quickly and easily. We have reserved a free parking space for our guests right next to the Percha/Kronplatz lifts.
Other nearby skiing areas include Speikboden and Klausberg in Tauferer Ahrntal, the Helm ski resort in Upper Puster Valley and the Alta Badia ski resort. Nor should you miss the legendary Sellaronda ski circuit, one of the best known ski circuits in South Tyrol, which takes you all around the Sella mountains on skis and chair lifts.
Another popular fixture in winter is the Christmas market in Bruneck, the Nativity Museum “Maranatha” in Luttach and the Messner Mountain Museums “RIPA” in Bruneck Castle and “CORONES” on the summit of the Kronplatz.
